In the context of the info that the Osama Bin Laden was killed many stuff went through my mind. One particular article (from which the graphic is) has helped me out to see that stuff from right perspective and realize again what is it all really about.
It has been 25 years today since the worst disaster in nuclear power plant’s history. Nuclear power plant in Chernobyl blew up because of recklessness and dilettantism of some people.
The bad decision of one man can influence lives of many. I can recall one verse from Bible in that context:
Romans 5:19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
A decision of one man meant and still has meant death for all of us. The decision of another one means possibility of eternal life for those who believe in Him.
I was touched by one thought in today’s sermon done by Jiri Lukl. He preached from 28th chapter of Matthew’s gospel which ends with “Great Commission”
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
The thought is that every promise in Bible has some sort of requirement to be fulfilled. The same is appliable to this text. I was touched when I realized the consequences. We have to fulfil what are we called to – make disciples – to have that promise that God is with us “always even to the end of the age”, real. It means that we cannot have the Gospel just for ourselves.
It is quite binding but on the other hand. Who wouldn’t want to have God on his/her side??
There is 50th anniversary of the first human on the orbit today. There is a rumble that is not true most probably that Garin while he was on the orbit said: “I don’t see any God up here.”
If he said it he was right because God is invisible :-)
