I found on Seth Godin’s blog in one post this picture in the context of the recent incidents that happend in Japan and following decision (I guess very rash one) done in Germany. It shows the impact of particular way of producing the electricity on the death rate of people per produced watt. It is very intersting comparison.

There are no alternative ways such as wind, sun and biomass mentioned in it. I think that they should be here. The results and impacts of their big support from EU and other countries in the last years are evident. The amount of starving people could talk. The rising prices of the food speaks for themselves. The rising import of the food to the countries which were previously self-sufficient is a live confirmation. And I could go on and on.

Isn’t the price too high for the development and expanse of the alternative resources? I know it very important to protect the environment and to treat our planet with respect. But won’t be the brought sacrifice too big for this artificial distortion of the world trade?
